Using this equation, Schrödinger computed the spectral lines for hydrogen by treating a hydrogen atom's single negatively charged electron as a wave, $\Psi(x,\,t)\;$ , moving in a potential well, V, created by the positively charged proton. This computation reproduced the energy levels of the Bohr model.

But this was not enough, since Sommerfeld had already seemingly correctly reproduced relativistic corrections. Schrödinger used the relativistic energy momentum relation to find what is now known as the Klein-Gordon equation in a Coulomb potential:

$\left(E + {e^2\over r} \right)^2 \psi(x) = - \nabla^2\psi(x) + m^2 \psi(x).$

He found the standing-waves of this relativistic equation, but the relativistic corrections disagreed with Sommerfeld's formula. Discouraged, he put away his calculations and secluded himself in an isolated mountain cabin with a lover.^{[citation needed]}

hello everyone,

suddenly just felt like posting

while the girls are enjoying the rich harvest of PW, and the guys are in the midst of registering for NS/medical, everyone's taking back their blocks results with great pleasure (except me)

CONGRATS TO 08S66 FOR GETTING STRAIGHT 'A's IN PW!!

given how mrs pow has been constantly asking us to redo this and redo that, it can be said that we thoroughly deserved our results. of course, the times spent on relaxation (e.g. gaming, forum-ing, facebook-ing) in the com lab were well-spent, proving to be a catalyst for success. without it, i'm afraid we would have been overwhelmed with stress and collapsed before OP.

furthermore, reminiscing the past, it has been good for the team whenever team members took a break and went off, because in the long run, the members could be fresher and more ready for the omnipresent workload.

hopefully, everyone will get some rest (much-needed for me) over the extended weekends, and be back for more ~~disappointments~~ surprises and stuff......
